Cape Cod Foundation To Present Community Forum On Supporting Youth

The Cape Cod Foundation is hosting its fourth in a series of 2021 forums to share information about the region’s current needs, resources, and opportunities for community engagement with a larger audience.

“Supporting Youth Across Cape Cod,” will be presented Thursday, Nov. 4, from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

The virtual forum is sponsored by Cape Associates Inc. Custom Builders.

In September 2021, our young people returned from remote learning to the classroom.  While this signaled a shift back to ‘normal,’ we must continue to address the impacts of the pandemic and make the educational, social, and emotional development of our community’s youngest residents an ongoing priority,” said Kristin O’Malley, president and CEO of The Cape Cod Foundation.

O’Malley said this forum will focus on the needs of young people on Cape Cod, how these needs are being addressed, and how we can work collaboratively to provide resources to support young people now and in the future.

The presenters who will join O’Malley for the forum are Tracey Crago, executive director of Falmouth Volunteers in Public Schools; Stacie Peugh, president and CEO of YMCA Cape Cod and Emily Smalley, current COO and incoming CEO of Calmer Choice.

We have asked leaders from nonprofit organizations serving very different segments of the community to join us so participants can gain a broad perspective of the challenges for young people on Cape Cod, but also leave with specific opportunities for engagement,” O’Malley added.

The forum is free and open to all. It will also be recorded to share after the event. Register at capecodfoundation.org to attend or to receive a link to the recording. A link to recordings of the foundation’s first three forums about food security and access, housing and homelessness, and mental and behavioral health is also available on the website.
