The Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center has been nominated for the Nonprofit of the Year in the Advocacy Category by the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network. The announcement was made late yesterday afternoon in Boston.

Every year, the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network honors the dedication, passion, and impact of the state’s nonprofit sector with the Nonprofit Excellence Awards. The awards are presented to six nonprofit organizations that exemplify the most innovative, creative, and effective work being done throughout the Commonwealth.

A panel of judges reviewed more than 130 nominations that represented the incredible work of nonprofits and leaders across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and selected 30 finalists across a total of six categories: Advocacy, Innovation, Leadership, Resilience, Small Non-Profit, and Young Professional. Nonprofit Excellence Award winners will be announced live at a State House ceremony on June 6, 2023.

The Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center has been nominated for the Excellence Award in Advocacy, which specifically recognizes a nonprofit organization whose work has resulted in significant progress on a public policy issue in the last two years. This year’s finalists are:

  • Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center
  • Disability Policy Consortium, Inc.
  • The Learning Center for the Deaf
  • The Midas Collaborative
  • Treehouse Foundation

This year’s ceremony is in-person and will be held in the Great Hall of the Massachusetts State House. To learn more or to register, click https://www.tfaforms.com/5056294.
