Cape Wellness Collaborative announced a major gift of $300,000 from the Richard W. Costello Estate,

CWC will use the funding to strengthen and secure existing programs, including integrative healing therapies and nutritious meals provided to people facing cancer on the Cape and Islands, as well as start an endowment fund.

“As co-owner of the Chatham Squire for 50 years, Richard knew the importance of food to nourish, sustain, and create community, so he really understood the need for our Wellness Eats program,” said Abigail Field, CEO of Cape Wellness Collaborative.

Costello also served on the Chatham Board of Selectmen and was well aware of the real needs in his community.

Founded in 2014, by local musician Sarah Swain, Cape Wellness Collaborative (CWC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which provides free-of-charge integrative wellness therapies and support for anyone on Cape Cod and the Islands facing cancer. To date, CWC has supported over 1,500 clients with integrative therapies and has cooked and distributed over 5,500 meals through its Wellness Eats program.
