A new partnership between the co-working facility CapeSpace and MarchandCFO will serve to mutually benefit both of their clients while helping to strengthen the business needs of the region.
Owned and operated by Kim Marchand of Yarmouth Port, MarchandCFO provides bookkeeping and CFO services to local small businesses and nonprofits. It is headquartered at CapeSpace, with offices on Independence Drive in Hyannis and Mashpee Commons.
As part of the reciprocal arrangement, MarchandCFO will offer CapeSpace members a discount on its services, Marchand will also be hosting office hours and informational sessions, allowing visitors to learn how her company can meet their business needs. MarchandCFO clients will benefit from the partnership by receiving a discount on meeting room rentals at CapeSpace.
Both CapeSpace and MarchandCFO recently made it onto Cape & Plymouth Business Media’s Readers Choice Watch List for companies to watch in 2022.
“I’m excited about this,” Marchand said. “Robbin and I have known each other for a long time and have a great working relationship. This is really a great fit and I’m happy to be able to offer my services to CapeSpace members.”
Marchand and her husband Jim are the former owners of the Sesuit Harbor House in East Dennis, which they sold in 2019. In 2010, two years after they purchased the inn, Kim formed MarchandCFO. Last fall, she rebranded and relaunched the business with the goal of supporting entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small businesses with essential bookkeeping and financial services.
It’s rewarding work for Marchand, who is a certified mentor and past chair of SCORE Cape Cod and the Islands. “I really like helping my clients succeed. For me, I love being able to share what I know and help give them the leg up they need to grow,” she said. “This is also a great opportunity for me to learn about cool businesses and business owners in the region and help them along in their work.”
CapeSpace President Robbin Orbison said Kim’s vision aligns with CapeSpace’s goals to help young businesses get started and help them grow and nurture.
“With the services Kim is offering, it is creating more one-stop shopping for new businesses who not only may need help with bookkeeping but the CFO-level oversight that she is able to provide,” Orbison said. “That strategic-level of oversight and advice is an additional value beyond what a traditional bookkeeper can offer.”
