Cape & Plymouth Business Media has announced a change in leadership, effective immediately.
Vice President of Marketing and Operations, Cara Cipullo, has been named CEO of the multi-media company, which publishes Cape & Plymouth Business magazine, hosts special events, and operates a full-service marketing and digital services division. The business will be celebrating its 20th year anniversary next year.
Dale Shadbegian, who has been CEO since 2020, will remain on as owner of the company, chairman of the board and assume a new role as Senior Digital Strategist, while focusing solely on the company’s use of technology and employing tools and services to provide more value to Cape & Plymouth advertisers, and marketing clients.
Cipullo, a resident of Plymouth, joined Cape & Plymouth Business Media in February 2022 as Marketing & Community Manager. She was promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Operations in September 2022. A 2009 graduate from Suffolk University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism, with a minor in Marketing/Public Relations.
Cipullo serves on the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She has also been an ambassador with the organization for the past 10 years and is a former winner of the Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year award. Cipullo also runs a networking/referral group, Connect 2 Close, which meets in Plymouth. She is heavily involved in other organizations including the Cape Cod Canal Chamber, Cape Cod Young Professionals, Cranberry Country Chamber, and more.
Cipullo has been recognized for her leadership skills. She was a 2015 Cape & Plymouth Business 40 Under 40 recipient. This honor spotlights the region’s top young business leaders who excel in their industry and show dynamic leadership. In addition, in 2022, Cipullo won a Global Success Leadership Award from OKI ME, LLC. honoring global leaders help others find work, purpose, well-being & success.
“I’ve enjoyed my journey of the last 18 months working toward executive leadership of the company, and putting plans in place to improve our offerings,” said Cipullo. “Back in 2015, when I received the C&P Business 40 Under 40 honoree, never did I imagine one day I would be stepping-up as the first woman CEO of the business.”
