Cape Cod Cape Verdean Museum & Cultural Center Receives $5000 Grant

The Cape Cod Cape Verdean Museum & Cultural Center has received a $5,000 grant from The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation for their upcoming “Before The Sun Rises: Work, Race and Memory” exhibit.

This exhibit will focus on the labor and agricultural history of Cape Verdean and other Portuguese-speaking migrants settling on the Cape. Utilizing Cape Verdean artifacts, displays will chart the labor activities of these communities, including the domestic labor of women, and explore issues of racial inequity in historical labor practices.
