The Community Development Partnership is partnering with SCORE Cape Cod to bring a 3 part Human Resources workshop series to small business owners on the Lower Cape. Whether you have employees currently or are looking to hire for the first time, these workshops are intended to provide you with the tools you need to adopt best practices in managing human resources.
Our first workshop kicks off on October 23rd, with Pamela Sande of Pamela Sande & Associates who will present “Top 10 HR Practices for Compliance.”  At some point, every business will face a challenging HR compliance issue or an employee situation that will expose the business to liability.  This session will discuss best practices that will help protect your business.
On November 6, John Wheeler, a SCORE mentor and nationally recognized speaker on customer service, will present the “ABC’s of Good Customer Service.”  Cape businesses serve both seasonal and year round customers.  Building a loyal customer base requires gold medal service that ensures that not only will your customers return but they will also become your best sales reps.
The final workshop “Managing Younger Employees – Millennials and Post-Millennials,” on November 27, will be presented by Paul Chatelain who will guide participants through best practices and the pitfalls to avoid.  As the workforce increasingly becomes comprised of younger employees, it is important to know how to effectively manage them.
The Human Resource series will be held on October 23rd, November 6th and 27th at the CDP offices in Eastham.  You can register for 1 or all 3 sessions.
Our series of Fall workshops for small businesses is being generously sponsored by the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. The CDP’s Business and Credit Program is funded through Mass Growth Capital Corporation, USDA Rural Development Rural Business Development Grant, Cape Air, Cape Cod Five Charitable Foundation Trust, Santander Bank and Seamen’s Bank Long Point Charitable Foundation.
