Deirdre Savage, vice president of Government and Regulatory Affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, has been appointed as chair for the Executive Committee for the South Shore Chamber of Commerce.
Savage, a Weymouth resident, is a graduate of George Washington University with a degree in Political Science and Government. She earned her JD from Northeastern School of Law. For the past 10 years she has been a board member, treasurer and chair of the Government Affairs Committee for the chamber. In addition Savage has been a board member and chair of the Health Care Committee for the New England Council for the past seven years.
In her role at Blue Cross, Savage provides executive leadership and strategic insights on initiatives across the company as well as day-to-day management of the company’s government affairs function.
“With offices in Hingham and Quincy and many of our 3,800 employees living on the South Shore, Blue Cross has a strong commitment to strengthening the local economy and quality of life of the region,” said Savage. “In this new role as chair, I’m looking forward to working with the board and members of the chamber to ensure that current and future businesses continue to succeed and the South Shore continues to be a vibrant place to live and work.”
