The Falmouth Chamber of Commerce will hold its 109th Annual Meeting and Award Dinner on Thursday May 25, at The Sea Crest Beach Hotel, 350 Quaker Road, North Falmouth.  The event is sponsored by Community Partner, Cape Cod 5.

The 2023 Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award will be bestowed upon Falmouth resident, community advocate and pastor of the Waquoit Congregational Church, the Rev. Nell Fields.

“It is a sincere privilege for us to honor Nell as our 2023 Citizen of the Year,” said Falmouth Chamber President Michael Kasparian.  “Although she is well known for her work as the rector of the Waquoit Congregational Church, it was Nell’s additional work in the community that made her the stand out candidate this year.  To name just a few of the organizations that Nell either has founded or serves on include: Barnstable County Human Rights Commission, No Place For Hate Falmouth Steering Committee, Director of the Falmouth Service Center, Director of Neighborhood Falmouth, Advisor Member of Belonging To Each Other.”

In addition, Fields has developed a series of workshops through Gosnold addressing addiction, is a mentor to the Engage Falmouth community group, supports Falmouth Public Schools through several initiatives and has supported the local business community by initiating the Falmouth Farmers Market and promoting local chefs and bakers at Safe Plates Events.

Dinner is $75 per person (open seating) or $750 for reserved tables of ten. Advanced registration, including payment, is requested by Friday May 19.  RSVP via the mailed invitation, by telephone to the staff at 508-548-8500, or online at FalmouthChamber.com.

The event is open to the public and seating is limited.
