Foley Named Outreach & Programs Manager For Cape and Islands Veterans Center

Barbara-Anne Foley of Sandwich, longtime director of Harwich Council on Aging, will be joining the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center in Hyannis in the newly established position of Outreach and Programs Manager, as of April 4.

Foley will oversee the coordination and administration of components of CIVOC programs which include and may be related to its food pantry program, holistic therapies, financial planning, client transportation, work with incarcerated veterans, elder veteran outreach and employment workshops. Her responsibilities also include planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling all program activities.

Foley holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Counseling from Quinnipiac University. Professionally, she dedicated over 30 years of her career working in healthcare, 18 of which were spent as director of the Harwich Council on Aging.

Additionally, she is the co-director of the Holy Trinity Church Religious Education Program. In that role, she has worked with many homeless veterans through her youth group’s work with the Street Reach Program, St. Clare’s Sober House, CHAMP House and St. Joseph’s Shelter in Hyannis. This program takes introduces students to a range of ways in which they can make a difference in the lives of others.
