Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., retired chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for Presidents Obama and Trump, will be the keynote speaker at the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center’s 40th anniversary celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis, 35 Scudder Ave., Hyannis.
Tickets will go on sale May 30. Proceeds will be used to fund the veteran’s housing, food pantry and transportation programs run by CIVOC.
CIVOC was founded in 1983 by a group of Vietnam Veterans who did not find the services and programs they needed available in the region to successfully transition back to their communities. From that humble beginning, CIVOC has grown and today provides four vibrant and accessible pillars of support (food, transportation, housing, and outreach) to veterans and their families in need.
