Habitat Cape Cod To Kick Off Sandwich Building Project

Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod is welcoming the Sandwich community to come out for a Community and Volunteer Kick Off Event for their two upcoming build sites at 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at First Church Sandwich.

Anyone considering becoming a volunteer or who would like to learn more about the project, is invited to attend.

One three-bedroom home on Nauset Street and two, two-bedroom homes on Cotuit Road will be built. The three families who will eventually move into the homes will be introduced at the Kick-Off. They will begin building their homes alongside volunteers in late October and November.  When the build is finished and the homes completed, they will purchase the homes at the price of $150,250 for a two-bedroom or $168, 250 for a three-bedroom.

For more information about this event or to learn how to become a volunteer, contact Tara Cronin, Volunteer and Community Relations Manager, at 508-362-3559 ex. 16 or tara@habitatcapecod.org

Habitat Cape Cod homes are typically net zero possible, with solar panels, and air source heat pumps, which don’t use fossil fuels or combustion, for less environmental impact while lowering the homeowner’s energy cost and improving air quality.

In the past 30 years, Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has developed over 165 affordable homes on Cape Cod.
