Governor-elect Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor-elect Kim Driscoll will continue their “Team Up Massachusetts” regional inaugural events on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. with a stop at the Family Table Collaborative, 1338 Route 28, South Yarmouth.

The event is intended to bring the inaugural festivities across Massachusetts, leading up to their swearing in on Jan. 5. Healey and Driscoll are hosting a series of service events to bring communities together and give back to those in need.

In partnership with Family Table Collaborative (FTC), Healey and Driscoll will package and distribute over 500 meals and produce bags.

FTC was founded as a rapid response program to address the immediate needs of families and seniors that struggled with food security due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They grew into a social enterprise dedicated to increasing nutritional security by  creating sustainable change through the preparation and distribution of freshly prepared meals, partnered with nutritional education. Through social innovation, creative collaboration with community partners, and the help of an army of dedicated volunteers, FTC addresses the whole cycle of food, reduces waste and increases sustainability, in order to achieve their goals. To date, FTC has prepared and distributed more than 110,000 nutritious, delicious meals and put over 25,000 pounds of rescued produce back into the community. Their motto is “Healthier people create healthier communities.”
