Housing Assistance Corporation is seeking individuals and teams to sign up for its Walk for Hope and help the agency meet its $80,000 event fund-raising goal.
Registration for the walk, now in its third year, opened up this week on Housing Assistance’s website, www.haconcapecod.org.
“Over the past year, finding affordable and attainable housing has become increasingly more difficult for Cape Cod’s year-round workforce, families, and seniors,” said Housing Assistance Chief Development Officer Anne Van Vleck.” By participating in the walk, people can play a pivotal role in supporting our programs that help Cape Codders overcome these challenges.”
People can register individually or with a team. Once people register, they can start walking and fund-raising immediately through Saturday, June 26, when Housing Assistance will hold a virtual celebration on its Facebook page.
Funds raised from this year’s event will go directly to support Housing Assistance’s programs to keep individuals and families on Cape Cod and the Islands stably housed. Last year, the organization assisted nearly 6,200 households in our region. In an average year that number is closer to 5,000.
