Info Session For Affordable Rental Apartments In Brewster Set For May 18

Housing Assistance Corporation is inviting potential tenants to a Virtual Info Session for 30 affordable apartments being built at Brewster Woods, on Wednesday, May 18, at 5:30 p.m.

Register for the session, which will be held on Zoom, at haconcapecod.org/lotteries 

Housing Assistance is overseeing the affordable housing lottery for the 30 apartments. which are being built through a partnership that includes Preservation of Affordable Housing, Inc. The lottery units include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in a brand new modern community. The complex includes off-street parking, central laundry, tenant storage, on-site management and 24-hour emergency maintenance.  

Monthly rents (including utilities) are expected to be $1,094 for a one-bedroom apartment and $1,312 for a two-bedroom apartment. There are seven units with Section 8 PBV Project Based Subsidies. 

Eligible applicants must have income at or below 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Barnstable County. Those limits are $40,860 for a one-person household, $46,680 for a two-person household and $52,500 for a three-person household.  

Section 8 applicants must have income at or below 30 percent of the AMI for Barnstable County. Those limits are $23,340 for a two-person household, $26,250 for a three-person household and $29,160 for a four-person household.

Applications for the Brewster Woods apartments can be filled out online on Housing Assistance’s website, haconcapecod.org/lotteries 

The deadline to submit an application is Friday, July 1, at 5 p.m. The lottery drawing will be held within 30 days of the application deadline.
