Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, Inc., in partnership with Senior Planet, a national nonprofit which harnesses technology to change the way older Americans age, is offering free computer classes in three Barnstable County towns this winter.
The Senior Planet curricula has been extensively field-tested and is continually updated to respond to adult learning styles. This means that these classes proceed at a comfortable pace and that its more likely participants will retain the skills and knowledge introduced.
“We are acutely aware of how important access to and familiarity with technology has become in reducing isolation and meeting daily needs” says Kerri Lyford, Program Director at Elder Services. “These classes have been a lifeline for those who have taken them!”
