Love Live Local kicks off their 11th season of their tri-annual Love Local Fests at Aselton Park in Hyannis on July 30, gathering community members to celebrate all that makes Cape Cod so unique with local makers, local musicians, locally crafted food and beverages, and a waterfront view.
The 2023 Love Local Fests take place on the last Sundays in July and September from 11am-5pm on Aselton Park overlooking the Hyannis Harbor, and the first Saturday in December on the Hyannis Village Green. The Fests are sponsored by Cape Cod 5, Commonwealth Wind- Avangrid, Devil’s Purse Brewing Company and True North Events Rentals.
The events feature over 75 local artists, artisans, and brands who pop-up for the day, as well as food trucks and a craft beverage garden featuring libations from Devil’s Purse Brewing Company and Truro Vineyards.
“For 11 summer seasons we have worked hard to create an event that fosters a distinct sense of community and place, while also sharing messages about the importance of supporting small business to our local economy,” said the organization’s Executive Director, Amanda Converse.
The event has also provided an important opportunity for hundreds of local vendors from across Cape Cod to connect to customers and to each other. Heather Hunter, creator of Happy Lotus Candles said, “I love the Love Local Fests! My business is mainly online, and the Fests offer the chance to interact with my customers face to face”.
The event is family-friendly with a myriad of lawn games in the park and a kids’ zone run by the Cape Cod Maritime Museum. Executive Director Elizabeth York and her team of Young Mariners will have a touch tank with some friendly sea critters, plus a second small tank for a hands-on challenge. Participants will be able to build their own (mini) boat and see how many marbles they can float in it. All of this and more will be stationed on their back patio and activities are for all ages to enjoy.
Local bands Jo & Co. (11:30 a.m). and Nautilus (2:30 p.m.) will be curating the summer vibes from center stage.
