Alisa Magnotta, CEO of Housing Assistance Corporation in Hyannis, has been appointed as co-chair of the Affordable Abundant Housing Committee within Governor-elect Maura Healey’s transition team. The committee will work to address numerous statewide housing issues.

Lt. Governor-elect Kim Driscoll, who visited Housing Assistance Corp. last spring, will lead the transition team.

“Kim is a proven leader and with her experience as the mayor of Salem, she understands housing is a crisis across the state,” said Magnotta. “She knows that solutions are at the local level and need localized action.”

Launched in 1974, Housing Assistance Corporation is a nonprofit leader that provides essential housing services to low- and middle-income households on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Its mission is to strengthen the region by empowering individuals, fostering community connections, and increasing year-round affordable housing opportunities. Magnotta has led the $30 million agency since 2017.

“I am honored to be called to serve,” said Magnotta. “Having the unique needs of our region recognized by the incoming administration is a testament to the work we have done collectively across the Cape and Islands. Having a seat at the table ensures we don’t lose momentum and provides an important opportunity to advance housing policies that work in all corners of the state.”

“The goal of this transition is to support and build a talented team that’s prepared to begin to deliver for people on day one,” said Driscoll. “Governor-elect Healey and I are excited to be building out our transition committees that will guide this process, in addition to other important work we will be doing over the coming weeks. Our team is working hard and continuing to engage the public by reviewing the ideas submitted to us and gathering applications from those interested in joining our administration.”
