Three of the local nonprofits that Martha’s Vineyard Bank nominated for Massachusetts Banker’s Association Charitable Foundation grants were awarded Honorable Mention grants for $1,500 each.

“It is gratifying to be able to nominate such worthy organizations and to have all those we nominated to receive the funding,” said Patti Leighton, Community Relations Director for Martha’s Vineyard Bank.

The three organizations are Habitat for Humanity on Martha’s Vineyard, Falmouth Service Center, and Belonging to Each Other in Falmouth (a winter homeless shelter).  These three grants were part of the Massachusetts Banker’s Association’s new record set this year in its annual year-end community grant season.

As a member of the Massachusetts Banker’s Association, Martha’s Vineyard Bank annually nominates local non-profits for these grants.  Overall, there were 50 grants totaling $160,000 awarded by Massachusetts Banker’s Association Charitable Foundation, which has 120 member-banks in Massachusetts and New England.
