Oktoberfest in Mashpee takes place Saturday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date, Sunday, Oct. 3) Oktoberfest on the Mashpee Commons Village Green, across the street from the library.
This free family-friendly event includes a craft show with more than 40 crafters, a dance demo by New England Ballet Theatre Co. and Haley School of Irish Dance, live German music by the Vagabonds in the bier garten and children’s music by The Elbows at 11:30 a.m.
Enjoy food including gourmet sausage, brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, chili, pretzels and more and check out the authentic German bier garten. Children can partake in inflatable games, stein race, pass the pumpkin contest, face painting and pumpkin decorating. A K-9 dog demonstration begins at 1:30 p.m.
Adults can test their strength and skill in the keg toss at 1:15 p.m.
Oktoberfest is organized by the Town of Mashpee Special Events Committee and sponsored in part by Botello Lumber Co., Mashpee Commons, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, Cape Cod Healthcare and Laurentide at Mashpee Commons.
