Mashpee Commons and Rory’s Market + Kitchen have partnered to collect donations to purchase fresh produce for The Family Pantry of Cape Cod.

Throughout the month of April, donations will be accepted at Rory’s Market + Kitchen, at 32 Market St. in Mashpee Commons. At the conclusion of the donation drive, Mashpee Commons and Rory’s Market + Kitchen will match all contributions to double the financial impact of the campaign.

“The housing crisis, inflation and lingering effects of the pandemic have left too many Cape Cod families struggling to provide the basic necessities of life, including fresh, healthy food,” said Sarah Chace, partner, Mashpee Commons. “I encourage members of the local community to contribute generously to help alleviate food insecurity for our neighbors in need.”

The bi-annual fundraiser for the Family Pantry of Cape Cod was initiated several years ago by Rory’s Market + Kitchen and was expanded to include Mashpee Commons as demand for assistance surged during the pandemic.

“The Family Pantry of Cape Cod lacks access to many fresh food products, but these funds allow us to place frequent produce orders, enabling the organization to deliver high-quality fruits and vegetable to clients on a regular basis,” said Rory Eames, CEO, Rory’s Market + Kitchen. “We are so grateful for the generosity and partnership of Mashpee Commons to share in our efforts to bring fresh food to those who need it the most.”

“Fresh produce, often the most expensive food group to purchase, represents 35 percent of the food we distribute,” said Christine Menard, executive director, The Family Pantry of Cape Cod. “We are very thankful to Rory’s and Mashpee Commons for helping fulfill our mission of providing food and clothing to all who need it.”
