Mashpee Welcomes the Mashpee Farmers Market

Mashpee, MA – Starting Memorial Weekend of 2024 through mid-October, the Mashpee Market, Mashpee Chamber of Commerce, Naukabout Brewery, and Lemonadio will host its first farmers/makers market to attract both visitors and locals to Mashpee to purchase goods, enjoy entertainment, and learn about various educational programs that the group hopes to produce.  The Mashpee Farmers Market will include new vendors each week, allowing for diversity in food and products.

The Mashpee Market’s goal is to connect the Mashpee community through local commerce and sustainable farming practices.  “Upon learning that Mashpee is a food desert, this project also became a social justice project for all of us involved,” said Stephanie Viva of Lemonadio. Viva has embraced everything good that can come from a farmer’s market and has attended the Massachusetts Farmers Connect by MDAR, and applied to be a SNAP accepting market with the Federal Nutrition Service. Viva also mentioned, “We will accept HIP and WIC will be present at the Market as well to ensure that this market is both welcoming and remarkably comprehensive.”

Included in the Mashpee Market are fresh produce, organic meats, local seafood, and artisans.  “We wanted to incorporate both food and maker’s wares into the Mashpee Market so that attendees are sure to walk away with something great,” said Peter Murner of Naukabout Brewing Company.  Beer from Naukabout will also be sold during the event and patrons are encouraged to stay for a few hours to enjoy live entertainment.  Overall, this market is a community event to bring both locals and visitors together to enjoy life.
“The Mashpee Farmers Market is just one more way that the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce is doing its best to invest in the town of Mashpee’s business vitality,” said Julie Quintero-Schulz, Executive Director.  “We ask that you support local businesses, not only at this market, but before or after at the surrounding shops in Mashpee,” said Quintero-Schulz.
