Plymouth resident Ashley Meehan, CPA, MSA, was selected as a 2022 Women to Watch Award winner by the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPAs), the professional association of certified public accountants, representing over 11,000 members.

The awards recognize women who have made outstanding contributions to the accounting profession, their communities, their firms or companies and to the development of women as leaders.

Meehan, an assurance manager at CohnReznick, is one of seven women selected to receive a 2022 Women to Watch Award. She is being honored in the Emerging Leader category, reserved for women with 15 years of experience or less in the accounting industry.

“MassCPAs is proud to recognize the accomplishments of this group of inspiring women, and we are thrilled to honor Ashley for her exceptional contributions to her firm, her community and the profession,” said Amy Pitter, president and CEO of MassCPAs.

Meehan has more than five years of public accounting experience working primarily with nonprofit organizations, community development corporations and affordable housing entities. She provides assurance, financial statement preparation and advisory services to her clients and is well-versed in Uniform Guidance and audits performed in accordance with Governmental Auditing Standards.

She is a MassCPAs Firm Ambassador, a member of the Affordable Housing Emerging Leaders group and on the Nonprofit Committee at CohnReznick. She is also heavily involved with recruiting, coaching and mentoring of senior and staff associates as well as taking a leadership role in the CohnReznick Internship program and new hires. In addition, Meehan is a captain for CohnReznick campus recruiting at her Alma mater, Lasell University, and has individually encouraged and pushed many to take the CPA Exam. A strong believer in giving back to her community, Meehan volunteers at various internal and external events.

“Ashley is the consummate professional who is well-respected and has proven herself as a leader both personally and professionally,” says Karen Kent, partner at CohnReznick. “She is a well-rounded leader who has demonstrated her skills through her expertise, client service, coaching and mentoring and commitment to the firm. Ashley’s unwavering integrity, ambition and desire to learn have led to her achievements early in her career and hold unlimited potential for the future. She is truly deserving of this award, and we are pleased to congratulate her on being honored with this recognition.”

Award winners were honored on Oct. 25 at the MassCPAs Women’s Leadership Summit at the Westin Hotel in Waltham.
