NeighborWorks Housing Solutions Receives $30,000 from Wells Fargo Foundation

KINGSTON, QUINCY, BROCKTON, TAUNTON, FALL RIVER, NEW BEDFORD, MA ISSUED JANUARY 8, 2024…NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS), the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, received a donation from the Wells Fargo Foundation in the amount of $30,000.  This donation will provide flexible resources that NHS can deploy across all programs and dedicate to areas of greatest need.
The Wells Fargo Foundation is one of a few but growing organizations that are recognizing the importance of flexible unrestricted funding for nonprofits.  Providing flexible resources allows organizations to use funding where it is needed most based on the current issues the organization may be facing.  These funds will be used to sustain and expand program services and activities for the more than 20,000 households served by NHS, which include real estate development and the creation of more affordable housing for vulnerable populations.  However, funds may also be used to provide additional support for households facing eviction and counseling resources to those facing a housing crisis.
“We have been partnering with NHS for a number of years, and we continue to see the impact of their work in the community,” said Terence Floyd, Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Impact for New England at Wells Fargo.  “Creating spaces for households to thrive in opportunity-rich communities takes the efforts of both the business and nonprofit community.  We know that NeighborWorks Housing Solutions is doing this in all of the gateway communities in southern Massachusetts, and we want to continue to work with them to expand and deepen our collective impact.”
The Wells Fargo Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations working to strengthen communities with a focus on supporting nonprofits that strategically align with the Foundation’s funding priorities, including housing affordability and financial health. Funding is prioritized to activities and programs that have a broad reach and support the needs of underserved communities and advance racial equity.
“We could not be more grateful to the Wells Fargo Foundation for this generous donation and highly value its commitment to our local communities and its appreciation of the services NHS provides,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.  “What we are doing in the community is transformative and will have a positive generational impact, but we need the commitment and support from the business community to do this.  Wells Fargo has once again stepped up to help and we are thankful to them for this.”
