NeighborWorks Receives $225,000 Community Investment Tax Credit Allocation

NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (www.nhsmass.org), the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, is the recipient of a $225,000 allocation as a result of the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) program.

CITC is a Massachusetts state tax credit program designed to support Community Development Corporations, such as NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, to increase their scale and impact locally. CITC provides a 50 percent state tax credit for donations made to specific vetted CDC nonprofits in the Commonwealth.

Individuals, corporations, and nonprofit organizations are all eligible to participate in the CITC tax credit program.  In addition to the state tax credit that the donor receives, the donation is still eligible for the federal tax donation, however all donors are encouraged to consult with their tax-preparation professional.  In addition to the tax benefit, donors also enjoy the opportunity to support a meaningful organization that provides services and education locally.

“These credits are very important to organizations like NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.  They not only help Community Development Corporations increase their impact, but also provide an additional benefit to the donor,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.   “This is an incredibly important program for us, and we are grateful to have been allocated these credits that will help us raise additional resources and ultimately serve more people.”
