The Piping Plover, a locally-owned, adult-use, recreational cannabis dispensary, opened Saturday, May 22, at 10 Main St. in Wellfleet.

The Piping Plover dispensary is one of the first of its kind in the Town of Wellfleet. The project began in 2018 with Zachary Ment, founder and CEO,  and Michael Drayer, director of Retail Operations, worked closely with the Town of Wellfleet to bring their vision to fruition. The team broke ground in the fall 2019 and began working with local contractors and craftsmen on the historic restoration of 10 Main St. in Wellfleet, locally known as “The Old Bank.”

“We designed and constructed our building with our town, employees, visitors, and the environment in mind,” said Ment. “The building is powered 100 percent by our own solar panels, and reclaimed materials were used whenever possible. We have done our best to make sure there are ample parking spaces, clear directions for in-and-out, space to bring customers in from the outside through our deck and wide open spaces within the store for a safe and comfortable experience unlike any other.”

According to the Piping Plover team, they have developed long tenured relations with other Massachusetts cannabis companies to ensure their stock is high quality and innovative.

“Our team will continually source these products and keep pushing the boundaries on the best of the best. All of the products we carry are unique, exceptionally well crafted, sustainably produced and maintain the highest quality ingredients, exceeding industry standards,” said Drayer.
