CARE (Creating A Responsible Environment) for the Cape & Islands and Eastham Chamber of Commerce will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the installation of a water refill station at the Eastham Visitor Information Booth, 1700 Route 6, Eastham on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 9 a.m.

This new water refill station is a collaborative effort by the Town of Eastham, Eastham Chamber of Commerce, Foran Realty and CARE for the Cape & Islands and is one of six water refill stations recently installed in the town of Eastham.

“This location is significant due to its high visibility and convenient location for the millions of visitors and residents who pass by each year on the way to the Cape Cod National Seashore and other Outer Cape locations,” said Jill Talladay, CARE’s Executive Director.

CARE has funded a series of refill stations throughout Cape Cod as part of their mission to prevent marine debris by encouraging reuse and eliminating single use plastic. This refill station was supported through donations made to Take Care Cape Cod’s “Think Like its 1620“ campaign designed to return the Cape to its pristine condition in 1620 and from a generous donation from Foran Realty.

“My wife and I have chosen to live on Cape Cod and raise our children here because we love the natural environment and way of life here. It is imperative that we do our part to maintain it for generations to come. Our livelihood depends upon it. That is why we support CARE for the Cape & Islands and projects like these that benefit us all,” said Patrick Foran.
