Partners Insurance Group, LLC and Plimoth Investment Advisors are teaming up to help residents protect themselves from identity theft by offering a free Community Shred Day event, Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at two locations: Partners Insurance Group at 560 Wilbur Avenue (Route 103) in Swansea and Plimoth Investment Advisors at 38 Resnik Road in Plymouth.
Drive up to one of the Shred Day event locations with up to two boxes of documents to be destroyed. Volunteers will be there to assist.
A shred truck will be on-site, shredding at each location during the three-hour event, which will take place rain or shine.
Common household documents you may want to consider having professionally shredded include tax records, old bills and bank statements, credit card statements, and canceled checks.
“There are countless sources of personally identifiable information around your home. Having it professionally shredded not only removes clutter but may also give you peace of mind,” said Patrick D. Long, President and CEO of Partners Insurance Group.
