Philanthropy Partners Announces 2023 Distinguished Service Award Recipients

The Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands have announced the recipients of the 2023 Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Awards. Awards in four categories will be presented during a ceremony at the 26th Annual Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod conference, slated for Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Hyannis.

West Barnstable resident David Troutman is the 2023 Outstanding Volunteer. Co-Owner of Scargo Café and strong supporter of the Cape Cod nonprofit community, Troutman is passionate about volunteering through his involvement in organizations such as Calmer Choice, WECAN, EforAll, YMCA Achievers’ Club and many others.

The ArtWorks Program MassHire Cape & Islands Workforce Board is the 2023 Outstanding Youth Organization. Providing innovative, enriching and accessible opportunities, the ArtWorks Program has created innovative, hands-on opportunities for students to explore their artistic passions for over 25 years, while also developing and fostering students’ future goals and aspirations.

Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders of East Harwich is the 2023 Outstanding Business/Organization. In 2010, PSD established the PSD Fund for Working Families, a lifeline for those facing challenges on Cape Cod. The organization has contributed more than $460,000 to support families and individuals in need, including a percentage of profits donated to the fund annually. PSD has also been a steadfast supporter of many nonprofit organizations through the years, but their dedication extends far beyond financial support. The PSD Team has donated their time, talent and effort to projects for Housing Assistance Corporation and WECAN, among others.

Chatham resident Craig Morong is being recognized as the 2023 Outstanding Philanthropist. Dedicated to giving back, Morong has quietly dedicated his own resources, time and effort to improve the well-being of others on Cape Cod and make a positive difference in our community. His loyal support of organizations like the Family Pantry of Cape Cod and the Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation has inspired others to do the same.
