Plymouth County real estate transactions continue to outpace recordings from a year ago. In the first quarter of 2021, there were 36 percent more recordings of real estate transactions than in 2020.

Register John R. Buckley, Jr. said highlights of the first quarter include a 7 percent increase in sales activity, a 13 percent increase in sales price and a 78 percent increase in mortgages. Plymouth County recorded 4,180 mortgages in March 2021. The 10,725 mortgages recorded over the first three months of 2021 far outpaced the 6,028 mortgages recorded in the first quarter of 2020, he said.

Plymouth County recorded 706 deeds in March 2020, compared to the 805 deeds recorded in March 2021. With 2,081 sales recorded through the first quarter of 2021, the Registry has seen a 7 percent increase over the 1,940 sales recorded in the first quarter of 2020.

Plymouth County recorded five foreclosure deeds in March, compared to 28 recorded last March, representing a 82 percent decline.  The government moratorium continues to keep these numbers down.
