Provincetown 400’s mission is to improve the quality of life of residents, the visitor experience, and to grow the economic and environmental vitality of Provincetown and Cape Cod.  The organization plans to accomplish this broad vision by showcasing the historic and cultural significance of the region.  Provincetown 400 is committed to educating the world about Provincetown’s unique role in the story of the 1620 landing of the Mayflower Pilgrims, the signing of the Mayflower Compact, the Pilgrim-Wampanoag relationship, and the five weeks of exploration on Cape Cod prior to the establishment of the nearby Plymouth colony — as well as sharing the heritage and culture of the native peoples living here long before the Pilgrims landed. Programs and events on tap are designed to actively impact the economy and social fabric of Provincetown and its surrounding communities in meaningful ways for years to come.  The organization intends to expand some programming into national initiatives with the potential of reaching an international audience.
