Randy Agnew, owner of RCA Electric & Generators, has been recognized as a Patriotic Employer by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
The award recognizes individual bosses or supervisors who make a special effort to support citizen warriors through measures that include flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.
Agnew received the award for his outstanding support of RCA generator technician, Sgt. Ryan McDermott, Tactical Power Generation Specialist (91D), who is currently deployed for the U.S. Army for a year. McDermott nominated Agnew for the award, which was presented by ESGR volunteer, Joe Sousa, at a special event which Ryan attended via Zoom call.
“It is an honor to receive the ESGR Patriot Award and to be recognized for supporting Ryan during his deployment,” said Agnew. “We are proud to support our employees who serve in the military and we will continue to do so in the future.”
ESGR is a Department of Defense program that promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers. The organization’s Patriot Award recognizes employers who support military service and help ensure the success of employees who serve in the guard and reserve.
