SOUTH YARMOUTH – Red Jacket Resorts has announced the addition of two new members to its management team and the promotion of another veteran team leader.
Derek Vance has been named general manager of Riviera Beach Resort in South Yarmouth and arrives on Cape Cod from Vermont with a strong background in hospitality management.
Some of Vance’s past leadership roles include a general manager position at Holiday Inn Express, assistant general manager at the Hilton Garden Inn Providence Waterfront and director of Guest Services and Kids Experience at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, Va.
Vance grew up in Vermont, is an avid skier and was heavily involved in 4-H programs in his youth, competing regionally and nationally. He graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a B.S. in Business Administration & Hotel/Tourism Management.
John Funari of East Falmouth is joining the Red Jacket Resorts team as director of Resort Operations. Funari has extensive hospitality experience on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, most recently serving as operations manager at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel in North Falmouth, where he was a member of the management team for more than nine years.
He previously served in general manager roles at the Harbor View Hotel on Martha’s Vineyard and the Country Inn & Suites in Mechanicsburg, Penn.
He earned a B.S. in Marketing from Bentley University and an A.S. in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Tanner George is being promoted from front office manager at Riviera Beach Resort to operations manager at Green Harbor Resort, both Red Jacket Resort properties in Yarmouth.
George relocated to Cape Cod from New Hampshire in 2020, moving from Red Jacket Mountain View Resort and Kahuna Laguna Waterpark in North Conway to Riviera Beach Resort.
George first joined Red Jacket Mountain View while he was in high school and spent eight years in the Food & Beverage Department, including time as a shift manager.
George also held positions on the front desk at Mountain View and in the Kahuna Laguna Waterpark. In 2020, he completed the Red Jacket Resorts Manager in Training Program to develop his leadership skills.
He graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a degree in Hospitality Management.
The Red Jacket Resorts collection of properties includes Green Harbor Resort, Red Jacket Beach Resort, Blue Water Resort, Riviera Beach Resort, Blue Rock Golf Resort, all in Yarmouth, and Red Jacket Mountain View Resort and Kahuna Laguna Waterpark in North Conway, New Hampshire.
