Registration is now open for individuals and teams who want to fundraise for Housing Assistance Corporation’s sixth Annual Walk for Hope. The three-mile walks will begin at 1p.m. in Falmouth, Hyannis, and Orleans on Sunday, May 19.
Funds raised will support Housing Assistance’s mission to strengthen the Cape Cod and Islands region by empowering individuals, fostering community connections, and increasing affordable housing opportunities.
“Last year, 6,500 people contacted our office for help finding safe, stable housing,” said Housing Assistance CEO Alisa Magnotta. “By participating in the Walk for Hope, you can take meaningful steps toward housing stability for our neighbors and join us as we kick off celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Housing Assistance.”
The Falmouth walk will begin at Peg Noonan Park on Main Street and Elm Arch Way. The Hyannis event, which will begin and end at the Village Green off Main Street (near the post office), will coincide with the Hyannis Open Streets celebration, allowing walkers a chance to enjoy music, food and family activities. The Orleans walk will start and conclude at Mid-Cape Home Centers at 15 Main Street.
This year’s supporters can help the Walk for Hope exceed last year’s accomplishments, which included:
• 528 walkers, including 52 teams
• 862 donations
• $129,322 raised
This year’s event will introduce registration fees that will be treated as donations and reflected in walker’s fundraising pages. There is a registration fee of $25 for adult (18+) and youth (11 to 17) participants in the Walk for Hope. Children (10 and under) can participate for a reduced rate of $10. All walkers are encouraged to raise funds for Housing Assistance and will receive prizes for reaching different fundraising milestones.
Traveling trophies will be awarded to the top team and individual fundraisers. In addition, the top individual fundraiser will receive a Fitbit and the top team fundraiser will be gifted a pizza party to celebrate their generous support.
Along with fundraisers, Housing Assistance is seeking sponsors for this year’s walk. Businesses interested in becoming a Walk for Hope sponsor should contact Christina Wiseman, Director of Events, at cwiseman@haconcapecod.org.

About Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC)
Housing Assistance has provided a spectrum of services to help our homeless and vulnerable neighbors secure a safe, stable place to call home since 1974. These programs and services include homeless outreach, family shelters, rental vouchers, affordable housing development, energy efficiency programs, and first-time homebuyer support. Housing Assistance also works to address the root causes of housing instability – lack of inventory and lack of affordability – that affect almost all income levels in our region.
