Registration is now open for individuals and teams who want to fundraise for Housing Assistance Corporation’s fifth Annual Walk for Hope. Three-mile walks in Falmouth, Hyannis, and Orleans will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 21.

Funds raised will go to support Housing Assistance’s mission to strengthen the Cape Cod and Islands region by empowering individuals, fostering community connections, and increasing affordable housing opportunities.

“Last year, 6,200 people contacted our office because they need help finding safe, stable housing,” said Housing Assistance CEO Alisa Magnotta. “Taking part in the Walk for Hope is your chance to take meaningful steps to address the region’s housing crisis.”

The Falmouth walk will begin at Peg Noonan Park on Main Street and Elm Arch Way. The Hyannis event will begin and end at the Housing Assistance’s Hyannis location at 460 West Main Street. The Orleans walk will start and conclude at Mid-Cape Home Centers at 15 Main Street.

In addition to an in-person component, participants have the option of walking virtually. People interested in signing up for this year’s walk can do so individually or with a team at hacwalkforhope.org.

The Osterville Baptist Church, which raised more than $10,500 and was last year’s top team fundraiser, is returning to make a collective difference.

“Our church has been on a journey, getting more involved with community issues and concerns,” said Senior Pastor Rob Wheeler. “Many people can’t meet their basic needs for housing. Church members are really excited to get out and support the Walk for Hope.”

Individuals who raise $25 will receive a Walk for Hope commemorative pin and those who raise $100 will receive a special event T-shirt.

Traveling trophies will be awarded to the top team and individual fundraisers. (Last year’s top individual fundraiser was Rich Bryant of Cape Associates, Inc.) In addition, the top individual fundraiser will receive a Fitbit and the top team fundraiser will be gifted a pizza party to celebrate their generous support.

Housing Assistance will hold four info sessions about the walks, which will allow participants to meet other fundraisers, learn more about this year’s routes and identify ways they can strengthen their fundraising efforts.
