Road to Responsibility Announces Top Sponsors for Annual Gala

Road to Responsibility, a nonprofit organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has announced its four top sponsors for its upcoming 34th Annual “Better Together” Gala on Thursday, Sept. 15, starting at 6 p.m. at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy.

Once again, this year, Xerox Business Solutions, Apothecare Pharmacy LLC, VHS Transportation/Patriot Investment Corp., and the Parsons and Benoit Family will serve as the leading sponsors supporting the gala.

This is the ninth consecutive year Xerox Business Solutions has demonstrated its support of Road to Responsibility as a gala sponsor, and next month, both Randy Baril, president, and Michael Doolan, vice president, will run the Falmouth Road Race in support of RTR for the fourth consecutive year.

Apothecare is an independently owned, long-term care pharmacy focused on providing the highest quality pharmaceutical care to the patients they serve.  In addition to supporting Road To Responsibility philanthropically over the last several years, they also work with RTR, providing the prescribed medication to individuals in all of RTR’s homes, and in specialized packaging for each individual.

VHS Transportation/Patriot Investment Corp. has also supported the gala at a Leadership Sponsor level for several years.  VHS Transportation, headquartered in South Easton, provides safe, consistent and timely transportation services to a wide range of individuals with special needs.  They contract with many regional transit authorities, human service agencies (including RTR), and municipalities to provide an important link between the individuals and their respective schools, day programs, supported employment sites, and other social service programs.  Patriot Investment Corp. is a sister company of VHS Transportation focused on real estate investments.

In addition to generous financial support over the years, Patriot Investment Corp. has also either purchased (and retrofitted) or custom-built homes which they then lease to Road To Responsibility, enabling the expansion of critically-needed services to others in an economically efficient manner.

Braintree residents Andrea Benoit and Michael Parsons and their family have also been active supporters of RTR for many years, and earlier this year Benoit was named to the organization’s board of directors.  Benoit serves as Counsel, Eastern Regional Command Defense Contract Management Agency, a Department of Defense agency that provides essential contract administration services for the Department of Defense, other federal organizations, and international partners.  Parsons is the chief financial officer at Source One Financial, which also serves as a job site for several RTR individuals.

This year’s annual mission-driven event is expected to be attended by more than 250 business and civic leaders, community members, and friends and supporters of RTR. It will feature live music from the Evan Goodrow Band, a champagne wall sponsored by Hingham Jewelers, a Plinko-inspired game, a mobile bidding auction, and dinner, which will wrap with a dessert buffet, coffee and dancing.  A special program highlighting and celebrating the progress and change Road to Responsibility has made for individuals in the local community will also be featured.  Candy O’Terry, a radio broadcaster, podcaster, singer, songwriter, and speaker coach, will serve as the gala’s emcee.

This gala theme – “Better Together” – is a spin on the previous years’ theme of “Making Lives Better,” combined with an acknowledgement of being back in person together for the first time in three years.

“We are so grateful for these amazing demonstrations of support and commitment from our top sponsors,” said Christopher White, Ed.D., CEO of Road to Responsibility.  “They are vital toward RTR’s ability to sustain and expand the services we provide our individuals, and their sponsorship serves as an important example for others.  We are so appreciative, and can’t wait to acknowledge them and all of our tremendous supporters, in person on September 15!”
