April 12th rally in support of bills impacting human services providers coming before legislature

MARSHFIELD, TAUNTON, MA, ISSUED APRIL 1, 2024… Road to Responsibility (RTR), one of the region’s largest and most successful nonprofit organizations supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in collaboration with the Providers’ Council, BAMSI, New England Villagers, The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape, TILL, Inc., and other regional organizations serving individuals with disabilities, will host a Regional Caring Force Rally on Friday, April 12th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Clarion Hotel at the Taunton Conference Center, in support of two bills coming before legislators that concern human services providers.

The Taunton event is one of several regional rallies being held in advance of the 12th Annual #CaringForceRally on May 22nd at the State House. The Boston rally is organized by The Provider’s Council, a statewide association of primarily nonprofit, community-based organizations that provide human services, health, education, and vocational supports to Massachusetts residents.

The April 12th Taunton rally will bring together local representatives, senators, human service providers, and interested parties in support of two critical bills introduced by The Provider’s Council. The bills would create a student loan repayment program for human services workers and ensure a livable wage for private, community-based nonprofit human services workers.

“We hope to see many community members come out to join us at the Taunton Conference Center on April 12th as we advocate for important legislative changes that will impact human services workers,” said Christopher T. S. White, Ed. D., president and CEO of Road to Responsibility.

The Taunton Conference Center is located at 700 Myles Standish Boulevard. For more information or to RSVP, please visit bit.ly/SoutheastTCF.
