John Roderick, President of Seamen’s Bank, announced the promotion of Lori Meads to Chief Executive Officer of Seamen’s Bank. Meads also serves as the Executive Director of Seamen’s Long Point Charitable Foundation. Michael Silva has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Meads has served as the President of the Community Development Partnership and currently serves on their board. She is Chair, Town of Truro Finance Committee; Treasurer, Provincetown 400 Executive Committee; Board Member, Helping Our Women (HOW); Board Member, Sustainable Cape; Advisor, Accessible Provincetown; Clerk, Provincetown Historical Celebrations; and Administrator, Pilgrims’ First Landing Park. She has served as an officer, on the board and various committees for such diverse community organizations as the Cape Cod Children’s Place, Provincetown Theatre Foundation, Provincetown Portuguese Festival Committee, Town of Truro Town Administrator Search Committee, Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum, Truro Educational & Enrichment Alliance, and Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Meads earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Bryant College (now Bryant University). Upon graduation, she managed the GAP clothing store in Hyannis. In 1992, Meads began working at Seamen’s Bank and has since earned an M.B.A. from New England College of Business. In 2016, she was named a Community Bank Hero by Banker & Tradesman. She lives in Truro with her husband Michael and daughter Emily. Michael Silva is also a Truro resident. After graduating from Provincetown High School in 1988, Silva attended Boston College where he earned a B.A. in Accounting from the Carroll School of Management. In 1993 he became a Seamen’s Bank Commercial Loan Officer. After 7 years as a Commercial Loan Officer, Silva became Bank Controller in 1999 and then Treasurer. Silva’s community involvement includes board positions on the Truro Recreation Commission and Dexter Keezer Fund, as well as volunteering for the Truro Food Pantry and coaching youth and high school sports. He has a son Robert and daughter Alyssa. Roderick plans to retire in June of 2018. His intensions are to remain on the Seamen’s Bank Board of Trustees, where is he currently Chairman, beyond his retirement from the position as President of Seamen’s Bank. The promotions were made based on abilities and experience, and are in accordance with the Bank’s succession plan. Seamen’s Bank, Cape Cod’s oldest bank, has offices in Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet and Eastham serving residents and business owners from Provincetown through Brewster.
