John Roderick, President of Seamen’s Bank, recently announced that Violeta Peters has been chosen Employee of the Year and Lisa Souza-Toomey was elected Teller of the Year by their fellow employees. Peters, Customer Service Representative in Eastham, was commended for her motivation and superior customer service. Souza-Toomey, who can be found in the Shank Painter Road Branch, was honored for her friendly professionalism.
Souza-Toomey was born in Provincetown and now lives in Wellfleet with her husband and four children. Her career has given her extensive experience in accounting, customer service and small business management. She joined Seamen’s Bank just over a year ago and says she “loves working with my fellow employees and the fabulous Seamen’s Bank customers.”
Peters, originally from Bulgaria, lives in Eastham with her husband and son. After working for a big bank, she  moved to Seamen’s three years ago in order to work for a bank that cared for its customers and their community. “I love the sense of family at Seamen’s and the opportunities the Bank offers for career development.” Peters is just a few classes away from completing her MBA at the New England College of Business.
Seamen’s, Cape Cod’s first community bank, was founded in 1851. The oldest bank on Cape Cod, Seamen’s has five offices from Provincetown through Eastham and serves residents and business owners from Brewster to Provincetown.
