Seamen’s Bank has announced the promotions of several residential lending officers.

Amy Wheeler was promoted to Director of Loan Servicing, Carlo Caramanna to the position of Director of Residential Lending, Ross Sormani to the role of Senior Mortgage Originator, and Samantha Keller to the role of Mortgage Originator.

“These expanded roles are well suited to these employees and together with their knowledge and expertise will further support the Residential Lending Team,” said Lori Meads, President and CEO, Seamen’s Bank. “As we continue to see the real estate market flourish, their exemplary job performance is essential in providing outstanding assistance and expertise to customers. Their community connections and attention to detail will enhance the customer’s personal experience while they are looking for a home.”

Wheeler is a Truro native and a 1984 graduate of Provincetown High School. She joined Seamen’s Bank in 1991 and worked for three years in the loan department before leaving in 1994 to raise her family. Wheeler returned to Seamen’s Bank in 2013 as a teller in the North Eastham Branch before rejoining the Residential Loan Department in 2016 as a Loan Servicing Representative. Prior to her recent promotion, she was Senior Loan Servicing Representative. In her new role, she will oversee loan servicing as a new and separate department of the bank.

Caramanna joined the Seamen’s Bank Residential Lending Team as Mortgage Originator in February 2020, bringing with him more than two decades of banking experience. He was promoted that same year to Loan Processing Manager. In his new role as Director of Residential Lending, Caramanna will oversee mortgage originations, underwriting, processing, and closing functions, as well as overseeing the support staff in these areas. He is a graduate of Florida State University.

Sormani, a graduate of Bard College, began his banking career in 2001 after a successful career in Provincetown real estate. He joined Seamen’s Bank in 2010 as a mortgage specialist with expertise in assisting customers with obtaining their first homes and in construction lending. A resident of Provincetown for 27 years, Ross has served as treasurer of Provincetown Beautification Committee and a member of the board of the Provincetown Housing Authority.

Keller also joined Seamen’s Bank in 2020 and brings more than two decades of banking and loan origination experience to her job. Keller worked for 12 years in California in the wholesale mortgage loan industry. Returning to the East Coast, she spent the next 10 years working in lending to the commercial field.
