Seaside LeMans’ Beneficiaries Announced By Davenport Companies

Five Cape Cod non-profit organizations have been announced as recipients of funding from the upcoming Seaside Le Mans – The Race for the Cape Cod Community.

The event, which will take place this year on Sept. 9, 2023, at Mashpee Commons, has raised nearly $9 million since its inception 22 years ago, providing grants to dozens of organizations that impact the daily lives of Cape Cod residents.

This year’s beneficiaries and how they will use the funding:

  • Alzheimer’s Family Support Center – Support for families and individuals living with Alzheimer’s
  • Cape Cod Healthcare – Funding for the Cancer Navigator Program, which assists patients and families through their treatment journey.
  • Cape Cod Tech Foundation – Supporting Cape Tech students with scholarships and grants.
  • Penikese Island School – Providing students with access to experiential, nature-based programming on Penikese Island.
  • Sharing Kindness – Providing suicide prevention, mental health education and grief support.

The Davenport Companies in South Yarmouth created and underwrites the Seaside Le Mans – The Race for the Cape Cod Community, which features teams of sponsors driving Formula One karts during an endurance race on an outdoor track at Mashpee Commons to determine the winner.

“More than two decades after the inception of the Seaside Le Mans, we realize the need is greater than ever to help local non-profit organizations across Cape Cod that are having a real impact on people every day,” said DeWitt Davenport, CEO of the Davenport Companies, and founder of the race.

The Davenport Companies covers all event-related costs. All race donations and sponsorships are sent to The Cape Cod Foundation, which distributes the funds to the designated beneficiaries.

“This year’s beneficiaries play a critical role in helping thousands of Cape Cod residents on a regular basis,” continued Davenport. “From assisting patients and families navigate a cancer diagnosis, to helping foster a student’s knowledge and respect of our environment, the impact of these five groups is far-reaching from one end of Cape Cod to the other. Funding from the Seaside Le Mans will also benefit those dealing with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis; trade school students in need of financial assistance; and youth struggling with mental health issues.”

The event is free to spectators and features food, music, and entertainment for the whole family.

Corporate and individual driving sponsorships range from $2,000 – $12,000 and provide the opportunity to participate in the endurance race, the sponsor pre-race gathering, team gifts and marketing and promotional benefits.

All equipment is included, no racing experience is required, and sponsorships are tax-deductible. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license. Companies or individuals interested in driving sponsorships should contact Samantha Oliviera, Event Director at 508-760-9265 as soon as possible since the field will be limited to 20 teams.
