NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS; www.nhsmass.org), the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, announced that Beverly Somerville has been elected as the new chair of the board of directors. The election took place at the June board meeting and the appointment was made official July 1, 2022.
Somerville is vice president and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) officer of Dedham Savings.
Somerville will lead the organization as NHS continues a path of significant growth with sound, ethical, dedicated governance and solid financial management policies. “I am delighted to be part of this incredible organization,” said Somerville. “Over the past few years, I have witnessed the transformative impact that NHS has on the people they serve. They not only invest in communities, but they also invest in their staff. They have an incredible group of talented people working together to advance the mission. I am honored to be taking on this role and helping to shape the future of NHS.”
Somerville has been a member of the NHS board since 2013. Since joining the board, the agency has experienced tremendous growth, which in part, was due to the contributions and leadership demonstrated by the board, including Somerville.
“It is a pleasure to announce Beverly as chair of our board of directors,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions. “We have come to rely not only on her knowledge of the banking industry and compliance regulations, but also on her strong advocacy and passion to advance our mission. Beverly’s dedication to the people and families we serve is undeniable; we look forward to her leadership.”
