South Shore Career Center Announces Plan For In-Person Services

The MassHire South Shore Career Center (MHSSCC) has announced a four-phased plan to return to providing in person services at its career centers in Quincy and Plymouth over the next few months. The plan is being implemented in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and Executive Orders.

The four-phase approach is based on public health guidance and MassHire Department of Career Services recommendations. Business and employment activities with a lower risk of COVID-19 transmission will resume in earlier phases. Public health measurement points will determine the progression through the phases to move to a soft opening and finally to a full opening of its career centers for in person services.

The progression through each phase will depend on the achievement of various conditions and benchmarks, and is subject to changes in state, federal and epidemiological restrictions.

The MHSSCC is currently providing services to area employers, including sharing of job postings, webinars, and providing information on Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL). These services are being offered through email or telephone. The MHSSCC’s Business Engagement Team (BET) develops a list of job openings on a weekly basis and provides it to MHSSCC staff to share with their customers. The job openings are also posted on the website.
