Sponsorships remain available for fundraising event to benefit families across the South Shore battling food insecurity
ROCKLAND, HINGHAM, ISSUED MAY 2, 2024… The South Shore Food Bank, working in partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank to improve food access on the South Shore, help address food equity across towns, and help make fresh options more readily available to families relying on food pantries to meet their needs, is grateful to the sponsors supporting the Inaugural Fresh Bite 5K and Citrus Stroll. The event will take place on Saturday, June 15, at Wompatuck State Park in Hingham.
South Shore Bank has signed on as Champion Sponsor, Allison James Estates & Homes and Stop & Shop as Sprint Sponsors, and The Murphy Insurance Group and SCU Credit Union as Friend Sponsors.
Sponsorship spots remain available for the fundraising event that aims to raise $30,000 to benefit families across the South Shore who are battling food insecurity.
“We are so grateful to the companies that are sponsoring our first Fresh Bite 5K and Citrus Stroll and would welcome the support of additional companies and individuals who want to help neighbors struggling to make ends meet have enough to eat,” said Pamela Denholm, executive director of the South Shore Food Bank. “This event is about community, and making sure the South Shore is a place where we can all thrive.”
The Fresh Bite 5K and Citrus Stroll will begin at 9:30 a.m. on June 15. The 5K (3.1 mile) course for runners will begin first and the Citrus Stroll walkers (1 mile) will follow. The trails are baby carriage and ADA compliant. The Citrus Stroll will include a treasure hunt for younger children, face painting, and additional activities. Food trucks will be on the premises. Friendly dogs on non-retractable leashes are also welcome.
