South Shore Habitat for Humanity (http://sshabitat.org) welcomes Sheri Green as its new Construction Manager.

Sheri GreenGreen brings more than 20 years of construction industry knowledge to the organization. Green is a Habitat veteran, having supported construction for the Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity for four years. Prior to that post, she was a hands-on, design-to-finish carpenter, construction supervisor, woodshop instructor, and had her own home improvement company for ten years.

Green will oversee all new and ongoing construction projects in the 32 cities and towns that South Shore Habitat serves.

“The Construction Manager is critical to our mission and program,” explains South Shore Habitat Executive Director Beth Lyons. “We are so fortunate to have Sheri join us in this important role. Her knowledge and experience will be key to expanding our home construction program, We are looking forward to working with Sheri to provide more families the opportunity to build a better future.”

South Shore Habitat for Humanity builds homes with families in need of affordable housing. It takes an average of 500 volunteers to help build each Habitat home. The Construction Manager is responsible for all the build logistics as well as teaching construction skills, in real time, to teams who volunteer to help build the homes.

“I believe in the mission of Habitat for Humanity to provide affordable housing to families in need,” Green says. “I look forward to working with South Shore Habitat and volunteers to build two homes in Cohasset. I encourage anyone who would like to volunteer to come build with us. It is an amazing experience that truly changes lives.”

South Shore Habitat for Humanity is currently wrapping up the construction of two homes on Whiting Street in Hingham. A home dedication ceremony with the two Family Partners, who helped build their homes, is slated for summer 2023. The next project is a duplex in Cohasset.
