Telethon For Hope Supports Housing Assistance Corp.

Next week, the public is invited to come together for the 17th annual Telethon for Hope, a day-long fund-raising event that will culminate with an evening of music to celebrate the work Housing Assistance Corporation is doing to keep people safely housed.

“As the pandemic worsens, we are continually reminded of the importance of having a place to call home in order to stay safe and healthy,” said Chief Development Officer Anne Van Vleck. “By donating to this year’s telethon and joining in our day-long fundraising drive on December 3, people can come together to give hope to our neighbors who are facing the fear of becoming homeless.”

Housing Assistance is a 46-year-old nonprofit based in Hyannis, whose mission is to ensure that all on Cape Cod and the Islands have a safe, stable place to live. Housing Assistance operates four homeless shelters on Cape Cod; develops affordable housing; oversees Section 8 vouchers for the region; conducts foreclosure counseling; holds educational workshops for first-time homebuyers and those looking to rebuild their credit; and keeps residents in their homes through its homelessness prevention program.

The Telethon for Hope will take place next Thursday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and can be watched live on Housing Assistance’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/haconcapecod), YouTube Channel (bit.ly/HACyoutube), and on local cable access channels 98 & 99.
