The Arc of the South Shore, a family-oriented, community-based nonprofit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities, is officially in the holiday spirit!
From Dec. 1 to 12, The Arc, in partnership with WPLM-FM (Easy 99.1), will spread some holiday cheer with 12 days of giveaways – provided contestants come up with the “Word of the Day.”
WPLM and social media will announce the word at a specific time of the day followed by a location at various retail outlets throughout The Arc of South Shore’s service area, including the Derby Street Shops, George Washington Toma TV and Appliance and The Arc of the South Shore’s Weymouth location. The first person to arrive at the destination and say the magic word will receive a prize and a Friend of The Arc t-shirt.
“We hope this festive competition brings a little extra fun to this season,” said Abigail Parrilla, CEO of The Arc of the South Shore. “We couldn’t think of better partners in what we will hope will become an annual holiday event.”
The Arc of the South Shore will also host its third annual Holiday Festival Sunday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Webb State Park, 371 River St., North Weymouth.
The rain or shine event will feature sleigh rides around the park, live music, photo opportunities with Santa, holiday themed arts and crafts, refreshments, and more.
