The Coop’s Christina Bologna Honored By Mass. Bankers

Christina Bologna, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod’s Community Relations Officer, has received the 2020 Giving Back Award from the Massachusetts Bankers Association.

The award was presented at the association’s Women in Banking Virtual Conference on Nov. 9. The award recognizes recipients for outstanding community service or mentoring and demonstrated achievement in leadership and professionalism.

“There is nobody more deserving of this award than Christina,” said Shanika Rogowski, Women in Banking Advisory Committee member and Senior Vice President and Chief Residential Lending Officer, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. “Her commitment to improving the lives of people in communities served by the bank is exceptional and unparalleled.”

Bologna is the community point of contact for the bank’s internal charitable giving program and played an important part in the 2018 creation and launch of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod Charitable Foundation Trust.

Bologna currently serves on the board of directors for Calmer Choice and serves as both a work support volunteer and mentor for WE CAN, an organization that empowers Cape Cod women with unique services that inspire hope and bring increased opportunity, self-sufficiency and stability. Bologna’s past community service endeavors include serving on the board of directors for Cape Cod Young Professionals, Community Leadership Institute of Cape Cod, Cape Cod Children’s Museum, and VoiceBox Media, a media outlet that reports on the people, models, policies and organizations working to alleviate global social issues.

“Christina brings her compassion, kindness, sense of humor and dedication to helping others to her volunteer work at WE CAN,” said Lisa Guyon, executive director of WE CAN. “She provides one-to-one support for women seeking help with finding a job or developing their career and she has served as a wonderful mentor in our PathMakers program. We are certainly fortunate to have Christina as a WE CAN volunteer and our non-profit sector on the Cape is lucky to have her as a strong advocate and ambassador on behalf of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.”

A resident of Yarmouth Port, Bologna is a graduate of Waynesburg University.
