SOUTH YARMOUTH – The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded $15,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations serving the community.
“We’re proud to support the nonprofits doing important work in our community,” said Madeleine Wing Adler, Chair of the Fund’s Advisory Committee. “This year’s recipients are supporting food security for neighbors in need, creating recreational opportunities for youth, providing health and human services for residents of all ages, and bringing unique cultural experiences to Sandwich.”
This year’s recipients are:
Alzheimer’s Family Caregiver Support Center, $1,000
For phone support services for residents of Sandwich
Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod, $2,000
To support an after school & summer program that serves Sandwich and Cape Cod youth
Cape Abilities, $1,000
For program support
Cape Kid Meals, $2,000
To support the “Weekend Backpack Food Program” for Sandwich students in need
Community Health Center of Cape Cod, $2,000
To expand access to care for Sandwich residents
Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, $2,000
To support the “Meals-on-Wheels Program” for Sandwich residents
Sandwich Department of Recreation, $2000
To support the Sandwich Recreation Scholarship Fund for young Sandwich residents in need
Sandwich Public Library, $1,000
To support a performance by the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers
Sharing Kindness, $1,000
For grief support for elderly and disabled residents at Shawme Heights II in Sandwich
YMCA Cape Cod, $1,000
To support Summer Camp Scholarships for Sandwich Children
Since the Fund for Sandwich was established in 2017, it has awarded more than $89,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations. The Fund’s Advisory Committee will continue to seek private donations to support the wide range of nonprofits serving the Sandwich community and will conduct its eighth grantmaking process in 2024 to support additional organizations.
