The Fund for Sandwich Awards $5,800 in Grants to Nonprofit Organizations Serving the Community

The Fund for Sandwich of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded $5,800 in grants to three nonprofit organizations serving the community. The recipients are:

Sandwich Recreation Department, $2,500
To support scholarships for local students to participate in the Children’s Summer Program, which offers a variety of organized activities that promote social, emotional, and physical health.

Sandwich Council on Aging, $2,300 
To support its ongoing Caregiver Respite Program which provides private, in-home personal care
or a companion to older adults with Alzheimer’s disease on a temporary basis to allow caregivers a
break from their duties to focus on their own physical and mental health.

Sandwich for All, $1,000
To support a community-wide screening of the IndieFlix film Race to be Human, which addresses
the apprehension and confusion many feel when talking about race and racism, followed by an
an open dialogue among participants.

Since 2017, The Fund for Sandwich has awarded more than $74,000 in grants to local nonprofit
organizations doing important work in all areas: community development; health & human services;
education; arts & culture; and the environment. The Fund’s Advisory Committee will continue to
seek private donations to support the wide range of nonprofits serving the Sandwich community.
